Book Fair FAQs
When is the Book Fair, where will it be, and what time is it open?
Book Fair is open December 6-8 and will be open each day 7:45-9:30am and 2:30-5:30pm in the Wales Theater.
What will I find at Book Fair?
Book Fair is like a pop-up book store and then some that coincides with Gordon’s Visiting Author Program. You will find the following:
A wide array of new books for all ages along with books by all of our visiting authors and books on special topics supporting Gordon’s mission.
A large selection of used books for all ages
Gordon Gear
A library donations area where you can select a book to donate to the Joukowsky Family Library in honor, appreciation,
or in memory of someone that will be designated with a book plate in the inside cover of the book. Hint: makes wonderful staff appreciation gifts!
A Book Fair-themed Community Raffle with a fun selection of prizes for students and adults!
An assortment of snacks for sale donated by members of the Gordon Community
Meet and get books signed by our visiting authors!
Which authors will be visiting with my child’s grade for the Visiting Author Program?
Gordon Librarian Frances Martindale has arranged for a fantastic array of authors to connect with Gordon students throughout the week during class time. The grades the authors meet with is based on the reading level of their work. A schedule of author visits and book signings can be found here.
Can my child buy books during the school day?
No. We will only be open for sales in the morning and afternoon.
There are plans for all students to come through with their classes to browse and select one Used Book to take home.
Can I order books online?
No. Unfortunately we do not have that option this year. All books will be sold in person at Gordon School.
How can I pay for books?
We can accept credit cards or cash.
What does the money raised from Book Fair support?
All money raised from Book Fair will support the Gordon Fund. Examples of where the money will go includes
supporting community engagement programming (e.g. such as GCA events), future visiting authors, the library, etc.
I’m interested in helping out at Book Fair. How do I do that?
